Frequently Asked Questions
What is a day of event content creator and why should I hire one?
A day of content creator is exactly what it sounds like - someone who is there the day of your wedding to capture all the content and moments you want documented.
My whole focus is on YOU and what YOU want captured. Weeks before your wedding, we will discuss the footage you want captured - anything from your desire to getting tons of videos and pictures from your dance floor to you wanting me to really focus on the small details such as your table center pieces, floral arrangements, etc. I’m here to help capture your day the way that you’d like - this can range from making fun TikTok and social media videos throughout the day or by me truly acting as a videographer and capturing all the small moments. As part of your vendor team, my goal is to make the day as easy and fun for you as possible and sometimes that means I act as your personal hype woman, bridal party member, etc. Whatever you need, I’m here to help bring your big day to life.
My mission is to capture and put together footage that helps you relive your day instantly!
What is the difference between you and a photography and videography team?
Currently, Something Borrowed Socials is not a substitute for a professional wedding photographer. You’ll still want a photographer on hand to capture those album-worthy images. Additionally, you may also want a professional videographer for a longer-form video. I’m an addition to the media team that is there on your wedding day, helping capture big and small moments and creating highlight videos for you and your loved ones to enjoy!
I also know that having both a professional photographer and videographer there on your big day adds up quickly so I can be a more budget-friendly option to capture all your video footage!
Can’t I just have my friends and family capture and post content?
This is why I created Something Borrowed Socials - so you and your favorite people can be totally present and enjoy your big day! Something Borrowed Socials will catch all the candid behind-the-scenes moments so you and your loved ones don’t have to worry about it.
My goal is to create a fun way for you to look back on all the candid memories made at your wedding as soon as the next morning!
What is your process?
First step - you submit an inquiry and we discuss your wedding vision and what you’re wanting captured on your big day!
Then, we make things official by you booking one of my packages or working together to create a custom package. In order to secure your date, a 50% deposit is required upon booking.
2-4 weeks prior to your wedding, we will have a pre-wedding meeting to discuss timeline, important moments you want captured, and any other details.
It’s finally wedding day! You make the memories and I’ll capture the ones you didn’t even know you wanted.
The morning after your wedding, you’ll receive a gallery of 100+ pictures I took throughout the day. I’ll also share these with your bridal party! Within 24-48 hours, I’ll post your first highlight reel. Depending on what package you choose, you’ll receive additional highlight reels and full video footage of special moments such as first looks, first dances, speeches, and vows.
Do you count against my photographer’s non-compete?
Some higher-end photographers and videographers may have a clause in their contract stipulating that coverage of a similar type conducted by someone outside of their team is not permitted. (This is most often included so that nothing interferes with their team’s work). For the most part, I would be considered a separate type of coverage, so this shouldn’t be an issue.
I would never step in front of a photographer or videographer as I’m not there to compete and am looking at capturing footage outside of what they are capturing.
That said, it’s worth double-checking with your photographer—and then connecting your photographer and content creator so they can prepare to work together.
Do you shoot everything on your phone?
Currently, all Something Borrowed Socials content is captured using a phone! All photos and videos are taken on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I will send you the footage all through a shared file for you to enjoy as soon as the very next morning!
Where are you located?
I am located in the Chicagoland area but am willing to travel for an extra fee depending on availability. Something Borrowed Socials could be amazing for destination weddings to share special moments with friends and family back home!
Do you do other events other than weddings?
Yes! Although my main focus is on weddings, I am always eager to get creative! If you have other events you’re interested in working together on such as birthday parties, work events, etc., submit a contact form so we can discuss!
